_

APPALACHIAN ROADSHOW

"The Appalachian Roadshow seeks to honor the music, traditions and history of the great Appalachian people and regions, as much as it does to forge its own fresh musical and entertainment trails – each endeavor infused with an authenticity and vitality borne of their Appalachian roots." The combined musical talents of these award-winning musicians brings to mind words like, extraordinary, remarkable, exceptional, phenomenal and legendary. Along with their musical gifts, they bring true joy to the music of their roots.  Band Members: Barry Abernathy, banjo/vocals; Darrell Web, mandolin/vocals; Jim Vancleve, fiddle/vocals; Zeb Snyder, guitar; Todd Phillips, bass.

_

PO' RAMBLIN' BOYS

A young band with old-school values, rooted in traditional bluegrass, they were named 2018 IBMA Emerging Artist of the Year. They work to represent bluegrass in the most authentic way possible, but also "putting a fresh outlook on it". “These guys love traditional bluegrass and know how to do it right with the same spirit, drive, heart and enthusiasm of the first generation bands." Band members:  CJ Lewandowski, mandolin/vocals; Jereme Brown, banjo/vocals; Josh Rinkel, guitar/vocals; Laura Orshaw, fiddle; Jasper Lorentzen, bass.

_

DAVE ADKINS

A powerhouse, award-winning singer, songwriter and guitarist with numerous accolades and chart topping recordings. A 2020 Grammy nominee, Dave Adkins' commanding and impressive vocals and his high energy, top notch band brings crowds to their feet resulting in a vastly entertaining performance."Dave's significant chart success, coupled with his stellar live performances, have made him one of most talked about male vocalist in acoustic music." Band members:  Dave Adkins, guitar/vocals; Joey Shann, banjo/Reso guitar/vocals; Will Clark, mandolin/vocals; Bobby Davis, bass.

_

RICK FARIS BAND

After 11 years with the globetrotting Greg Cahill and Special Consensus where he learned the meaning of professionalism and giving back to the Bluegrass community, Rick had a strong desire to shine with a genuine connection to fans and players on stage, propelling him to step out as a solo artist in 2018. Rick started writing his own songs featuring watertight harmony and mind-blowing picking, setting out to show the world what his brand of Bluegrass sounds like. Band members are: Rick Faris, guitar/vocals; Laura Orshaw, fiddle/vocals; Nick Dumas, mandolin/vocals; Will McSeveney, banjo; Beth Lawrence, bass.

_

THUNDER RIDGE

A high energy traditional bluegrass band based in Portland, Oregon. Starting out as a “throw together” group to play for a band that canceled a performance, with 4 hours notice, and a desire to perform they were on stage. They had not played as a group prior to that, but soon realized they had something special with the blend of their voices, their drive, and musical tastes. They specialize in hard-driving sound with tight two and three-part harmonies. Band members are: Drew Trucker, mandolin/vocals; Chuck Holloway, 5-string banjo/vocals; John Montgomery, guitar/vocals; John Meriwether, fiddle; Casey Davidson; bass.

_

RUSTY HINGES BLUEGRASS

Grown out of the bluegrass jam circles at local festivals, their music is a blend of traditional and contemporary bluegrass and Americana.  Each member of Rusty Hinges is a veteran of the Pacific Northwest bluegrass scene. Their collective experience results in a musical program that is polished and entertaining.  Band members:  Jim Delfel, guitar/vocals; Al Price, banjo/vocals; Ron Clark, mandolin; Bryan Chaffe, guitar; Jan Delfel, bass.

- Philosophy of the Our Festival -

We are inviting pickers of all ages to an exciting weekend of bluegrass at its best. We believe that means lots of nice folks coming together to share their music and their stories, seeing old friends and making new ones. A weekend where the music never stops...and we don't mean just on stage!

We think bluegrass at its best means celebrating and encouraging the talents of young musicians as well as the old timers. By doing so, we are assuring the future of acoustic roots music in America and our festival seeks to nurture that tradition.

It's all about the music folks. The preservation of this body of music; its traditions and values as well as many instruments long forgotten.

Join us then, and see what comes of it. You never know, there may be a Bluegrass musician hidden in you some where.....

EXCITING NEWS ON FOR TAYLOR'S CAMP

The Wenatchee River Bluegrass Festival Taylor Richards Scholarship was established in 2015 in memory of Taylor Richards.   A link will be available soon for more information of this program.

TAYLOR RICHARDS SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

_

OUR YOUTH PROGRAM IS NAMED "TAYLOR'S CAMP"

IN HONOR OF THIS FINE GENTLEMAN

_

Taylor Richards was a young man who epitomized our vision for developing an instructional camp to nurture an appreciation of American roots music in the next generation. From the day Taylor walked into a little music store in Leavenworth Washington with his dad Steve, with a little interest in music but not much thought of Bluegrass, until he played on our stage in the guitar flat-picking contest 5 years later, a transformation took place. Every summer he would come out from his home in Georgia to see his dad and they would attend the Wenatchee River Bluegrass Festival. With every festival he would get better and better; gleaning information, techniques and style from everyone he could play with. Soaking up everything he could hold. He and his dad found a common ground that cemented them together, no matter how far apart they were the rest of the year. He grew into a man we were all so proud to know, with his quick wit, gentle heart, gracious manners and a smile that could calm the most hectic moment. Taylor wanted to continue his family's tradition of military service and was killed in combat serving his country as a Lance Corporal Marine in Afghanistan on June 26th, 2010. We, the Board of Directors of the Wenatchee River Bluegrass Festival, wanted to honor Taylor 's memory and his love of Bluegrass music by naming our school “ Taylor 's Camp”. We know we couldn't ask for a better guardian angel for our “kids”.
